Monash House gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families. Our warm and supportive home-away-from-home provides a comfortable place to stay, keeping families together and close to Monash Children’s Hospital.
On the grounds of Monash Children’s Hospital, our House has two fully self-contained units and 13 rooms, with different configurations to accommodate families. Common areas allow for sharing with staff, volunteers and fellow guests, and private rooms offer much-needed spaces to relax and unwind on your own.

Ronald McDonald House North Fitzroy located at the historic Casa Elda Vaccari (a former light rail substation) caters to the growing need for regional, rural and interstate families to have access to safe and reliable accommodation in central Melbourne while their child undergoes treatment in the city. Retaining lots of its original character, our House has been converted into a purpose-built accommodation facility for up to 25 families a night. Ronald McDonald House Parkville gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families. Our warm and supportive home-away-from-home provides the whole family with a comfortable place to stay while their child is undergoing treatment at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.
Ronald McDonald House Parkville gives over 1,300 families every year the gift of being able to stay close to their sick children while being surrounded by a support network of caring staff and fellow families. Our House has 51 guest rooms of various sizes, including three fully self-contained isolation suites.

Keeping the family together can be extremely tough without support, which is why we offer accommodation for parents with seriously ill kids who need to travel to hospital for treatment. Our Houses also support mothers going through high-risk pregnancies.
We try to accommodate the needs of families where we can, but this is always subject to availability. Priority is given to families whose children have been recently diagnosed, seriously injured or who require emergency treatment, as well as families of premature babies.
Keeping our families
Continuing to provide a safe and supportive environment for families of seriously ill children at our Ronald McDonald Houses and Programs is our absolute priority.
We understand that being away from home for long periods of time can put families under financial pressure. That’s why we don’t charge our guests for their stay.
While our policy is to provide free accommodation, your stay at the House may require you to claim financial support towards accommodation and travel from the relevant government transport assistance scheme in your home state. Our friendly team are happy to work with you to apply for the relevant financial support.
